IBRA 2023 Grand Prix Awards

The IBRA 2023 FIP General World Stamp Exhibition had been successfully held by Bund Deutscher Philatelisten e. V. from 25 to 28 May 2023 in Halls 7 and 8 of Messe Essen.

A total of more than 3600 frames were judged and there were 809 exhibits for this exhibition, the largest scale FIP exhibition that has been ever held since the pandemic.

The Palmares was held on Saturday 27 May 2023 evening attended by more than 500 guests and a total of 64 large golds and 196 gold medals were awarded by the international jury team, lead by Jury President Eliahu Weber and Jury Secretary Lars Engelbretch.

GPN Winner Alfred Schmidt (Germany)

There were two candidates for the Grand Prix National prize and the winning exhibit went to “Prussia – The first Three Issues 1850-59 ” by Alfred Schmidt (Germany).

 

GPI Winner Ponce Lozada, Julio Cesar (Peru)

The Grand Prix International prize had four candidates and the prize went to Ponce Lozada, Julio Cesar (Peru) for his exhibit “The Mail System in the Viceroyalti of Peru”.

 

Finally, there were three FIP Grand Prix d’Honneur candidates.

The winner went to Britz, Walter (Uruguay) for his exhibit “Uruguay: Early Issues of the XIX Century (1856-1862)”.
